We are so glad that you’ve decided to apply to the FACES Annual Conference 2016-17. While you fill in this application, please keep in mind that we are most interested in getting to know you as a person, as we would like everyone to do the same in the interests of forming earnest relationships during the conference. There are no wrong answers - please answer as candidly and honestly as you can.

The Annual Conference is not only a forum for debate, discussion and engagement with inspiring leaders; it is also a forum for interpersonal exchange. The close friendships that form are at the core of what makes the conference truly unique. Through your essays, we hope to get to know you not only as a student and a leader, but as a person too -- just the way your fellow delegates will.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aged 18-28.
  • Undergraduate Sophomore or beyond at the time of the conference
  • Demonstrate strong personal or academic interest in US-China relations
  • Speak a level of English adequate to participate in interactions and discussions at the conference

You are welcome to answer the essay prompts in Chinese, but please always include an English version. To avoid impact of internet interruption, please save your responses in a separate file to start with.
