Stanford Opportunities in China

  • Bing Overseas Studies in Hong Kong

    • This opportunity, starting fall quarter of 2019, will offer the chance to engage in cultural, academic, and internship opportunities within China. Empowered by an enthusiastic alumni network, Stanford in Hong Kong has a wide range of regional opportunities, including in mainland China. Classes (taught in English) will take place at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

  • China Program at the Stanford Center on Global Poverty and Development

    • The China Program at the Stanford Center on Global Poverty and Development is currently interviewing for a Social Science Research Professional who can help provide research assistance related to the Center's work in China. This position would be ideal for an individual who is 0-2 years out of college and interested in pursuing a career related to development economics. The position requires strong English writing skills and a firm understanding of development economics. The ideal candidate would also be proficient in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese.

          • CCRC Internships offers internships from one to three months in Chinese cities ranging from Beijing to Shenzhen. The internships offer opportunities to network, travel, and work across a variety of fields. The primary goal of the program is to increase employability and cultural agility.

        • Global Internships: Shanghai

          • Global Internships: Shanghai offers both summer and fall internships for college students. The internship program begins with a one-week immersion in business Chinese language to ensure a seamless transition into the workplace. Fields of work vary from communications to environmental science to law.

          • This internship offers a summer long experience in China, where one can become familiar with working and living abroad in China. The program offers placement in internships, where one works with areas varying from environmental outreach to English teaching. A stipend is provided.

        Language Courses

        • EducationFirst 

          • This program offers an advanced course in Chinese language. EF’s online course includes over twenty-five language courses per week, in addition to several projects.  EF has a business degree program that focuses on international business between the US and China. Additionally, the course offers intensive language opportunities for college students, including language and academic years abroad.

        • Volunteer in China

          • Volunteer in China offers the dual of experience of learning about China while also giving back to the country. The first half of the program centers around education, including Mandarin lessons and courses on wildlife, for example.
